Limiting no. of users

Dear All,

A client of mine which is a group of companies which use NAV. I would like to limit the no. of concurrent users by company. E.g. The group in total has got 10 NAV licenses. Company A is restricted to 3, Company B is restricted to 3 only, Company C is restricted to 4 only.

Has anyone ever had such a request? Is there any additional module or customisation which can be done?

Yes the question has been asked often. But there is no practical way to do this in Navision. You should do this with database licensing granule.

Outside of Navision you could do this by managing finsql.exe globally, but it would never really be a stable solution, with too many back doors. Indirectly you could do something in Citrix, but again nothing concrete and not a 100% solution.
