Fetching opening quantity in Item Movement Report

Hi Experts

I am trying to develop an item movement report using value entry table but I need to fetch opening qty . Plz guide me ho i will do this.

What do you mean by opening qty?

means if i am running report from 01-04-2012 which is the startdate. then the sum of quantities of before 01-4-2012 will be the opening qty for that item.And the closing qty of the first line will be the opeing of the next line . I am using value entry table . plz mention the code how i will do this?
