Shortcuts opens always new session

Hello,
I have a question. When a customer creates a shortcut from NAV( for instance a customer card) via file, send, shortcut to desktop.
When he clicks this shortcut every time it opens a new session of NAV. While it should open in the existing session of NAV.
Client used: 5.0.30488.0 (nav 5 sp1 update 2).
server used: sql2005
Extra information: they updated last year their client from 4.0.3 to the mentioned version of 5.
Now we tried several things, uninstall all clients and reinstall the 5 client, no success
Changes in the registry, no success.
What should we do to get this working.
The most stupid thing is that it works fine on a new Terminal Server which had no older clients.
