The attached procedures outline the way we are currently using NAV, and we want to improve our business processors, especially in relation to Field Service Management.

Currently when we dispatch a Field Service Engineer to a job, we copy and paste the details to an email, and send him the email. After completing a job, he then emails the visit results, and the data input into NAV, is done at the office. We require a more streamlined process whereby our engineers have an Andriod application on their phone/PDA which is syncronised with their diarys in NAV, (and the job details). The engineers, once accepting a job, (notiification to office on NAV), will procede to the job, undertake the job, complete the visit (the job may not be completed at this stage) and any parts replaced on the PDA application. The PDA application will automatically syncronise with NAV (In real time or near real time)

As a first task can you let me have your proposals for undertaking this task, including the method of inport/export between NAV and the Andriod Appication on the PDA

Job details, visit results should be stored or cached locally on the PDA in case of a break in internet connectivitity

The stock that the engineer carries on his van should also stored or cached locally so that he his able to search for, and use a part, on his visit result

Can you put forward your proposals for acheiving our objective, including the method of Import/Export from NAV. Eg XML ports
