Hi all,

Has they removed Navigation pane in NAV 2013 Beta ?

When I went to View -> Navigation Pane, I cant see the Navigation Pane option anymore.

Since we dont have classic version anymore, thats the reason they have deleted the Navigation Pane. Is it true?

If anyone knows about how to view the Navigation pane in NAV 2013 Beta, Kindly let me know.

Regards,
chandru.

Navigation pane is always there. So you can't hide or view it. It's needed to edit the menu suite (departments) for RTC.

    Hi ara3n,

That is what I am also asking. So we can able to see the menusuite only when goto the menu suite designer am I right? And we cant see the navigation pane as we see in classic version on the left hand side when we try to open the navision database using fin or finsql.

    Thanks & Regards,

I would like to help but I don't understand what the problem is. The development environment is there only to design the objects. All objects actually run within the RTC. There is no sense in running the menusuite in the development environment, because you would never run it from there. What is the problem with this?

    Hi DenSter,

My query is also that. Because since all the objects are run only in rtc, we dont have navigation pane in developer environment.

Do you have any link wherein I can see the development material regarding NAV 2013 Beta.

    Thanks & Regards,
    chandru.

    Hi Chandru,

I don't think MS has released developer course books yet, but you can find devitpro.chm (help file) in Documentation folder. It's good to go through as of now........!!!

I do not uderstand, what is the problem.

No classic for user => no forms and classic reports => no navigation pane. Only designer with Departments designer. There are o classc objects, thus, why have something like Navigation Pane? To what you will navigate?

You are right, there is no navigation pane in the development environment. This makes total sense because nothing runs from there anymore. I still don't see what your problem is.

Ok, I was hoping to find the answer here on how to get rid off it when it does re-appear by accident.
I encountered a little glitch while opening the Development environment and now I am not able to hide it anymore.
I tried closing and re-opening the, Alt-F1 and nothing seems to work. I even tried to see if there was a menusuite 90 in my object table.

Since it is completely useless I want to get rid of it.

    Does anyone know how?

    Thanks,

I found the same glitch and had it run with a very slim one to the left. Eventually it disappeared on me, and I think it happened by opening a menusuite in design mode and then closing it. Annoying that Alt+F1 doesn't work.

To replicate this, start NAV2009 classic client and have the Navigation Pane displayed. Close NAV2009 classic client and start the NAV2013 Development Environment.

This is assuming 2009 and 2013 use the same zup file.

To fix this, start NAV2009 classic client and hide the navigation pane before you close.

    Thanks, That fixed it!

That I didn't think of that.....

Or you can simply open the same database again in NAV2013

    File-->Database-->Open
    Click OK
