Hello,
I have Custom LS Retail 5.0 database and W1 LS Retail 6.3 database. I want to merge objects from them via mergetool.
I have exported tables from my Custom LS Retail 5.0 and W1 LS Retail 6.3 into .txt file and imported them in mergetool versions as LS Custom - Tables and LS 6.3 - Tables.
In mergetool option tab you should select an old navision/add-on version and an old custom version. You must also choose a new navision/add-on version and a new custom version.
I have set the following:
old navision/add-on version: LS 6.3 - Tables, old custom version: LS Custom - Tables;
new navision/add-on version: LS Custom - Tables 2*, new custom version: NEW LS 6.3
* this is a copy of LS Custom - Tables, because the setup doesn't allow using same names.
With this configuration if there is an additional information in LS Custom - Tables (for example - caption properties) mergetool adds it to NEW LS 6.3. But if there is a conflict (different code on same line number), mergetool choose the code from LS Custom - Tables, not from LS 6.3 - Tables.
The main idea is to copy all additional information from LS Custom - Tables, combine it with LS 6.3 - Tables and put it in NEW LS 6.3. But if there is a conflict, setup must choose code from LS 6.3 - Tables.
P.S. Is it possible mergetool setup to wait for my action only if there is a conflict, not if there is additional lines to be inserted (e.x. caption properties).
Best Regards,
Boris Pavlov

There is various changes in LS version 5 to 6.3
example Epos main has now less code, all the main code moved in new code unit called pos transaction.
also the same for discount and others, so just change ur customization in LS6.3 instead of merging..

I would suggest the traditional way -
1) Export Text file of standard LS Retail 5.
2) Export Text file of Customized LS Retail 5.
3) Import them in developer toolkit (if major changes) or use compare it (if minor changes).
4) Identify changes and, copy those changes to Target DB LS Retails 6.3.
Thanks & Regards,
