Hi when we log in Navision, the system througing error message if we key in "Server Name" in the Server Name field in the Open Database window. With "IP Address" there is no problem. But my customer don't want its users to know the IP Address of the server. How the issue can be resolved? Kindly assist.

    Review your network.
If all else fails, use the hosts file on the clients computers.

Can you try to disable Named Pipes and try to connect using TCP/IP?

Shinis if your company does not have net work specialists in house then you need to get out side resources. Networks are a crucial part of an ERP implementation. In fact your client probably needs to bypass you and get in a company that will maintain their network for them. That would probably be the best solution all round.

The fact that you felt this was a Navision issue is a sign that you shouldn't be fixing this, you are likely to only make the situation worse.
