Item has no Inventory Parameters error

When trying to firm orders from MasterPlanning, I get an error message that state the items have no inventory parameters. What does that mean?

    It means you imported your items rather than manually keying them and you missed out system required tables. I suggest running the consistency check but reviewing your import as well.
