Error passing/receiving a generic list to/from .NET/NAV

I am trying to get and send a generic list to/from .NET fom a Page.
I receive the following error:
The call to member membername failed: The object is not identified, and cannot be locked or read from.
Is there some specific way this needs to be done for NAV?
