Assist edit button not visible on item page

Hello,

We have encountered an issue where the assist edit button in RTC is not visible on the item page next to the "No." field. Currently only one user is experiencing this error, and it only happens when the user performs a lookup on items and selects "New" from the dropdown list. The functionality is there and the user can click where the assist edit button is supposed to be (it says "assist edit" if the user does a mouse over), but the button itself is not visible. If the user selects "New" from the item list (page 31) or selects "Advanced" from the dropdown list and then "New" the assist edit button is visible. I was wondering if anybody else has encountered this same issue and if they knew the reason behind it.
