Gen. Question:Integration of Information from other Systems

Currently I'am in the pre-project phase to clarify the pheasability of integration of thirdparty dataacess from/into navision.
(as a VB, C#, SQL-Server, Oracle Developer/Projectleader I'am new in the navision environment)
Most recent topics are:
- Display trendcharts from PLC-Datapoints, Data access via ODBC or Navision SQL-Server via DB-Links (covered by views or Stored Procedures)
- File/directory access to display the content, on demand open pdf-Docs of this directory.
- Implementation of maintenance- and servicetask based on PLC-Data with rescheduling. Some of them have the need of workflows.
Questions:
- Integration/display of charts possible, estim effort ?
- Display directory content possible, estim effort ?
- Open/display of pfd-docs, estim effort ?
- Maintenance- and servicetask with rescheduling/workflow possible ?
- Best practice ?
- Hints ?
