Item Journal not updating bin content

Can someone explain why, when I post an item journal, the bin content is not getting updated? It creates the bin content when I using item relcass journal but not when I create negative or positive adjustment. I have the warehouse setup as bin mandatory but we're not using the full warehouse mgmt. In the location card I do not have anything checked but bin mandatory and have default bin selection to Fixed Bin.

This is on a 2009 SP1 database.

When posting adjustments this is the standard behaviour. To update bin content use the function "Calculate Whse. Adjustment" after the initial item adjustment.

I tried to run it but it says that teh item Journal Batch does not exist. Jounal Template Name=", Name". I tried to set it up using the Whse. Journal Template and item Journal Template but I must not be doing it correctly.
