Generating Opportunities and feeding them into NAV from CRM

Hello,
We have NAV 6.0 R2 and CRM 4.0.
We'd like to know the best way to create production forecasts using NAV. We know to use the Requisition worksheet and that we need to set up re-order points in the Replenishment and Planning tabs. As well we are looking into purchasing the Demand Forecast granule so we can use the Production Forecast table.
What we're trying to answer is what is the best way to incorporate opportunities from the sales reps into the demand forecast?
Is there functionality in NAV that allows it to create opportunities? Or is there a way to use the Dynamics Connector tool to transfer data from CRM accounts into NAV accounts that can be then fed into the forecasts?
Am I making any sense? Thanks for any help.
