Updating Post Code table

Our customer needs to remove some additional info from the City field in the Post Code table.

We have made a function to accomplish this and renamed lots of Post Codes in a test database, but know I find out that the City names are not updated in the Customer and Vendor tables

So, what is the best approach when renaming/updating the Post Code table to ensure that data is also updated in related tables as well?

Here's another place where an update processing report works well.

By using "GET" function.

dataitem cust table or vendor table or "ship to" table you use GET function to find the zip

depending on if the zipcode tables key is just CODE or CODE, COUNTRY) :-k

if just code then..
if "Zip code".get(customer."Zip code") then begin
Customer.city := "Zip code".city;
Customer.MODIFY;
end;

You can create 1 report that runs thru all the tables you would to update.

**edit I see now I have modified the Zip code table to use key CODE,COUNTY since we ship globally. We were finding zip code clashing between certain countries. if you need this mod also just add a new field to the zipcode table 50000 -> Country Code with TableRelation->Country (for quick look up) and change the primary key to CODE,COUNTRY.
