Hello,
we have migrated (for one of our customers) from 4.03 to Nav 2009 R2 sql (without RTC) but on some of our customers' clients the message attached appears when opening nav from a shortcut on desktop (sql 2005). The message says : "impossible to use file C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temp\_TEMP_XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX.tmp because it is already in use"
Can someone help me how to resolve such conflict?
I really don't know if it depends on NAVISION installation or other
Regards

Try to do a reset of the PC. That should fix it.Regards,Alain Krikilion

Hello,
what do you exactly mean by "reset PC"?
Thank you0 -
lol, he is saying restart the PC.
And cleanup the %TEMP% folder0 -
Thank you, but the customer already tried to do so but the problem still happens any other suggestions???
Thanks again0 -
And cleanup the %TEMP% folder
Before starting, make sure it this folder doesn't exist. does the user have enough rights?0 -
Hello thanks for your response, the user reseted the computer and cleaned the temp folder but the problems persists, exactly what type of permission does he must have??
And further where do I have to control the permissions? I mean only on the temp folder or somewhere else?
Thanks0 -
Give the user "Administrator" rights and check.
The error you have is something developers have all the time while testing NAV. If my NAV hangs or stops I need to restart the PC or quit some processes because a process still is using files and I can't start NAV.
Are you sure the user is the first user to start it?
Could you translate the error message to english?0 -
Thanks,
The message says: Impossible to use the file "C:\Documents and settings......" because it's already in use.
My question is by who?
and what do you mean by "Are you sure the user is the first user to start it?"
Regards0 -
To know who is using a file, you can use process explorer (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653).
Then Find=>find handle or ddl and put in it the filename. It will show you which process is using that handle.Regards,Alain Krikilion

Thanks I've just downloaded the program and the next time the customer has the error I will try to find out who is using it
But from your point of view and experience what could this problem be linked to?
Thanks0 -
If I could remember that.
I have had the problem but I don't remember how I solved it.
Probably I used process explorer to see what/who is blocking the file.Regards,Alain Krikilion
