Navision Cost Accounting Granule

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me if i need the global 2 dimensions in order to use the aditional Cost Accounting granule, or this granule already has a solution for the cost center structure?

My client want's to implement this granule, but the 2 global dimensions are being allready in use nowadays.

Hi,

Yes, you are correct - currently Cost Centers are mapped on Global Dimension 1 and Cost Objects on Global Dimension 2. You can, of course, set up additional cost centers/ cost objects to fit the structure you need, but for these ones no G/L transactions will be reflected on their behalf since they are not mapped with neither Global Dimension 1 or 2. For this purpose, you can set up and use Allocations.

For the next release, NAV7, Cost Accounting Setup will be more flexible, allowing the user to map Cost Centers/ Cost Objetcs to any dimensions.
