HI out there,
i have some trouble with the Outlook Add-In and hope somebody has a hint for me to solve it.
Some details.
NAV Server 2009 R2 is running with the standard database on a Windows SBS 2011 Standard Server.
The Server also holds the Exchange Server and the DC.
The Clients use the Classic Client to connect to the NAV Server.
Win 7 Pro is running on the clients.
All updates and service packs are installed.
So i tried to set up Outlook Add-In to sync the contacts between NAV and outlook.
First i created a windows login user with super rights in NAV. I tired the connection with NAV ClassicClient and it works fine.
Than i tried to configure the Outlook Sync. On the Settings page i select the server and it showed me the company's by drop down menu.
I chooses the right one and tried to connect... but i always get a time out here.
NAV says i should config the timeout but i dont know where it need to be set.
Also i dont understand...
When i change the server name i get an error (sure..because its not there) .. and cant choose the company.
So my server should be fine and it let me choose from the drop down the company.
There must be a communication or not??
Any ideas help solutions?
Sorry for my not that good English... i hope you get the point of my question.
Many thx for your input!
greetings from Switzerland

In NAV i only created the Windows Login Account with Super rights.
In Outlook i can only set the server name and choose the company ... but than i don't have any connection.
Wonder if there are more things to do in NAV?

ah sorry.. i added the users there.
I think the main problem is the connection. What makes me wonder is, when add the server under Outlook settings i can choose from list the company..so there must be a kind of communication. When i than try to connection i get a timeout.

You have to create a Sales Person for tasks and meetings..etc..
Its better you do it with help of your senior who has already done before..
its not simply run the exe and do the setup in Outlook setup..

Many thx to all who has helped out and gave hints tips and co.
I finally managed to configure the sync.
My error was the App Server - SnapIN told me its started but the service itself was not.
I added a new service with NAS "installasservice" and changed the runas settings and it works.
thx all
