NAV 2009 with SQL Server 2008 R2 - Express

Hello,
I installed SQL Server 2008 R2 Express Edition on my server. Then I restored the NAV database backup on this server. I tries to open the database from NAV 2009 Client. The application manages to trace the database on the specified server but it says that the database has been upgraded by the current version of SQL Server and hence it says that NAV 2009 must also be upgraded to a compatible version.
Could anyone please help me to find a solution for this?
Thank you

I am not really into this, but I recall (and tried to get the right info on this) that NAV 2009 SP1 (and R2) is only compatible with SQL Server 2008 R2. The only info I could find that seems to support this is:
CustomerSource: Microsoft Dynamics NAV Compatibility with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2
PartnerSource: Microsoft Dynamics NAV Compatibility with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2
In short it's saying:
We support the following versions of Microsoft Dynamics NAV with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2:
* Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 SP1
* Microsoft Dynamics NAV 5.0 SP1 with Update 20 -
NAV 2009 R2 is support on SQL 2005, SQL 2008, and SQL 2008 R2. While 2005 is out of mainstream support, conversation I've had with MS support state they do support it. Of course, that is subject to change and you're always best to use the latest release.There are no bugs - only undocumented features.0

Ok so to confirm SQL Server "Express" and SQL Server "Compact" are out?0

I've run small test/development databases just fine on Express. I just would not use it for production due to its limitations.There are no bugs - only undocumented features.0

Agreed.
BTW - Express is not extirely free. Only the server is. You still need CALs for any workstations.There are no bugs - only undocumented features.0 -
Thank you everyone for the support. I found a solution for that. SQL Server 2008 R2 Express works fine with NAV 2009 SP1.Thank you
