Do you know why this is done? is this a replacement for ANSI to ASCII?

After this function has run:

CharsNavision=
ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ[\]^_`abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz{|}~ÇüéâäàåçêëèïîìÄÅÉæÆôöòûùÿÖÜø£Ø׃áíóúñѪº¿®¬½¼¡«»€‚„…ÁÀ©†‡ˆ‰¢¥Š‹ŒŽãÑ’“”•–—¤ðÐÊËȘÍÎÏ™š›œ¦ÌÓßÔÒõÕµþÞÚÛÙýݯ´±ž¾¶§÷¸°¨·¹³²Ÿ

CharsWindows=
ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ[\]^_`abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz{|}~óÚÔõÓÕþÛÙÞ´¯ý’µã¶÷ž¹¨ Íœ°úÏÎâßݾ·±Ð¬‡Š«¼¢‰í½ˆÇüéäàŒ‹®åçêëóÑèïîìÄÅÉÒŽæÆôöòûùñð“”‘ÿ–—¤ÖÜø£ª•Ø˝Èʧ˜ÁŸÌš›™²¦»…¡×¥º¸©€¿À†„‚ƒá

Don't know if these char values are correctly displayed on this forum?

I guess it's used since this is a W1 Report and Codeunit GeneralMgt where ANSI2ASCII is located in, is not available in W1 version?

And yeah, this looks like ansi2ascii conversion

It is used to change Nav characters to windows characters. If the characters are not changed you end up with errors in Exporting Analysis View to Excel. If I remember correctly I once got this error while creating a PivotTable because the localization didn't convert the characters.

But why couldn't they use ansi to ascii. Is this one better?
