NAV2009 R2 serenic payroll objects cause NAV to lock

stalderstalder Member Posts: 5
Running SQL 2008 R2 / NAV 2009 R2 (6.00.32012) / Serenic (HCM 6.00.04)
got latest payroll objects from Serenic, merged in to existing db from NAV
ISSUE: running design on some of Serenic payroll objects, or trying to print payroll reports cause NAV to lock up
all other areas of NAV work fine / print fine
if anyone has any ideas, please let me know
thanks,
eric

Did you compile all their objects?

My guess they are using newer executable version with hotfixes. So I suggest to get either the latest exe and also contact serenic and see which build number they use.

    thanks for response.
compiling some of the payroll objects locks up NAV, as well as printing some of the payroll reports locks up NAV
will contact serenic, check for version compatibility issues
i got the latest versions/downloads for NAV and Serenic at pretty much exactly the same time...

there are some hotfixes released that you can get only through support channels.

it seems that, as of a certain serenic version, the serenic objects do not work anymore in my database

Question: within NAV2009 R2 db, before / after the hotfixes are put in, are objects not compatible backward anymore?
ie. if you save an object after a hotfix is put in NAV2009 R2, and then try to load that object back to a NAV2009 R2 without the hotfix,,, will the object not compile? not print? is that the issue? i did not think there was this kind of object version compatibility problem within NAV 2009 R2...

thanks for all the responses. the blog indicates that the solution is to recompile,,, but my objects will not compile and reports will not run. so, I am just confirming that it does make sense, given the objects' different builds possible ===> objects can just be un-compileable, locking up the system, because of the different builds, right? and the solution is to apply the latest build, and recompile, per the blog... thanks

yes if you are using newer exe a recompile will work, if you are using newer fob, then old client will crash.
