Changing UOM in Phys. Inventory Journal caused error.

stevekwokstevekwok Member Posts: 2
When I change "Unit of measure" in "Phys. Inventory Journal" I've got an error.

"Phys. Inventory must be No in Item Journal Line Hournal Template Name='PYS.INV.', Journal Batch Name='DEFAULT',Line No.='10000'.

I have tried 2009SP1 and 2009R2. Is it a bug or by design?

I am a beginner, thanks for help.

    Hi Steve,

    1. what is the item no. where you try to change the "Unit of Measure"?
    2. does line 10000 in your DEFAULT-Journal use the same item no.?
    3. what happens after you delete this line in the Journal?

Short description of the default behaviour of NAV: after having entered or posted any journal, sales lines, purchase line, ... the no. of items (base) is based on this UoM. You are not allowed to change UoM as long as any of these lines exists!

Therefore: defining the correct UoM is a very delicate decision when starting your warehouse :!:

    Good luck
