Reservation Date Conflict

I have a request to break the date conflict error for reservations. The users would be allowed to reserve quantity to a purchase order or production order with a receipt or due date later than the shipment date on a sales order. Currently NAV does not show purchase orders as available to reserve from a sales order when the receipt date is after the shipment date. I reviewed and it seems like an easy modification to break the code to allow this, but am wondering if anybody else has done this before. I am worried about the ramifications down the line with the reservation entry table.

We use full MPS and MRP in the planning worksheet. Ultimately I would like to get rid of the date conflict for sales orders, purchase orders, production order line, and kit sales lines.

Please let me know if anybody has done this before or if you have any idea if this will cause other problems throughout NAV.
