Lot tracking without using form/page

I have a customer for whom we are automatically creating purchase and sales orders from staging tables populated from elsewhere. But they need orders created for lot tracked items which is going to be tricky due to the fact that much of the logic for this functionality is triggered from a form/page (5610).

Has anyone undertaken this exercise and able to offer me some clues on how you may have gone about this?
