SMTP Mail Error in NAV

Hi ,
Some of my clients use smtp mail to send mail from NAV (2009 SP1). But recently it stopped working and the following error is coming.
The SMTP mail system returned the following error: (0x8004020E): The server rejected the sender address. The server response was: 530 5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first.
As per my knowledge, mail.Gmail.com follows SSL. I think the problem is integreting SSL with SMTP.
But dont know how to resolve the same. Kindly help with some ideas.
