Sorting of records Using Webservices

Client is using NAV2009 R2 and we're currently implementing webservices for Customer Cards and lists. Do you have any idea how to sort the customer list by No. / Search Name / Salesperson etc at run time? (We're thinking of adding a button - Sort By and depending on the client's request, the customer list gets sorted accordingly.)

Something very similar to the sort button inside Dynamics NAV Customer list etc but through a web interface (webservices) please!

I've had a look at this post, however if I understood it correctly, the sort depends on the table name and the userID (thus only one sort key for every user)

Instead of publishing the page, maybe create a XMLPort for the customer table instead. Then you can set the key on the customer table and pass it to the XMLPort.
Don't know if it will work just throwing an idea out there.
