Could someone please tell me when the Amount and Amount Including Tax on a PO is populated?

create a test po.

enter an item# (have the amount & amount Incld Tax fields visible.

Enter the qty of 1.

Now release the order. Functions->release or Ctrl+F11

The fields should update.

Is it possible for the amount field to be populated before Release? I am trying to explain to a user how it works and I have been told that since they started using NAV, the amount field is populated as soon as an Item, Qty and a cost are entered.

you asked about "Amount and Amount Including Tax"

if you have showing (on the po line) fields "Line Amount Excl. Tax" & "Outstanding Amount" those fields populate on the entry of a qty immediately without release.

They might be hidden - you'll have to show them.
