Hi All,

I have been searching and wondering (maybe not enough :-) ) on how to display negative values with the brackets symbol rather than the negative sign, i.e., (123.45) instead of -123.45. I want to produce an account schedule report in that format.

Thought about coding the format of the textbox in the report accordingly but am not sure whether it's appropriate or not. I have also tried to change the regional settings of the machine but again with no success at all. Any ideas? Unfortunately there isn't much help online #-o

Thanks in advance

Unfortunately there is no simple global way to do this. You need to go in and format every field that you need like this. Its very easy, its just that you have to do it in a lot of places. In most cases I talked the client out of it, but I did have one client that needed all accounting data in accounting format, like journals, Chart of accounts etc.

Have you tried changing your regional settings in control panel?

region & language -> Additional Settings -> Negative Number Format
    Change to (1.1) from -1.1
