NAV with EDI

Our customer use EDI to get Sales Orders, Has anyone an idea how to use this with NAV?

Hi

with EDI you nromally have to interface with the customers selected 3rd party software. Linking directly with the customers EDI is normally very difficult.

Hi Mehdi,
I have a lot of experience in EDI transactions.

Usually there is a transaction software like TIE Smartstart between You and Your customer. This software automatically receives the orders and provides the received data in a certain file format. Depending on what kind of data You receive (XML, TEXT, CSV) You then can then import the data into to the sales header.

So the first step for You will be to manage the receive process and find a software for that. The information could be sent via email as well. But I would not apreciate this, cause mail is an asynchrnous transmission method, where you cannot be sure, that the data really arrives.

As soon as you get an example file, I´ll be able to help you with the next steps.
