How does "Send Approval" work for Purchase Order,Sale Order, Quote ?

you can start with Administration-->Application Setup-->Document Approvals..

I try to setup in Document approval and i try to send approval for my sale order and purchase order but i still can not see in Approval Entry.

What is the status in Your Sales order or Purchase Order?
