Analysis reports and languages

Hi all,
One of our customers work in a multi-language environment. They have set up several sales analyses reports. In the "Analysis Columns" setup, they use the "comparison period formula" to calculate sales/margin in specificic accounting periods. These formulas are language specific and our customer has created them, in Dutch. When English users want to do some analysis, the get the error that the entered formula is invalid. is there a way to create formulas that will work for all languages, or should the Enlish users switch their client to Dutch before running the Sales Analyses reports (or create a column-defintition per language???).
I am curious if anyone knows a trick for this...
