Calculate response date/time

hi everyone,
do you know if there's some standard function (probably in service management) that takes a starting date, starting time, elapsed time (hours) and returns the finishing date and time?

I started to take a look at the service mgt module, but maybe someone of you already used it and wants to spare me the code search [-o<

The Starting Date/Time and Finishing Date/Time are updated when the Service Order Status is changed. The Service Time (Hours) field is the calculation of time that passes between the 2. Keep in mind that if you change the status multiple times, the Starting Date / Time is updated multiple times, so your total Service Time value will not be correct.
