Aged Accounts Payable 10085 in 2009

I have done about 15 upgrades from 2.6, 3.7, 4.3 to 6.0 over the last 2 years and have noticed in every upgrade the customer complains about the run time of Aged Acounts Payable report 10085 in 6.0. It some cases the run time has gone from 5 seconds to 1 minute or 10 seconds to 2 minutes. The customer lives with it. With very large databases I am seeing run times going from 20 seconds to over 5 minutes just to produce a 20 page report, which the customer does not want to live with. I can take the 10085 from 4.3 and import as report number 50185 for example and run in 6.0 and get the 10 second run time with the same result. The only thing missing on the 4.3 version is a few additional options. Anyone else notice the big difference in run times on 10085?

Yes, the report coding is still based on 2.x where the Detailed Cust. Ledger was not introduced. They haven't changed the structure of the report to really take advantage of the detailed cust. ledger entry table, so if your client has been using for a years and years, then it may be slow.

What we typically do for larger database is to hack the crap out of the report and make it more efficient. We basically made the report so it uses detailed cust. ledger entry instead of having it loop back to its own customer ledger.
