can not assigne barcode mask for items

please i need help
we have setup barcode mask from 3 segments as follow

type = item
prefix = 22
symbology =EAN13

segment type length char
1 item no. 5 I
2 LOT NO. 5 S
3 CHECK DIGIT 3 M

barcode mask = 22IIIIISSSSSM(13)

when i need to assign barcode mask for any item messagebox tell me (character S is not registered in the barcode mask character table)
can any body help

Are u looking @ pricing by lot number wise ????
Usually we use barcode mask for perishable items/weighing items
-->pricinig based on item code
1.weight is fixed and price will be taken during pos billing.eg:vegetables
2.Price is fixed and weight will be taken during pos billing.eg:grocery items

u can use inventory lookup functionality, u have use by invnetory lookup table and it will work as varient with barcode pricing
