Hi All,
I am trying to do some test on my local own computer,so I installed SQL server 2005 ( 32 bit) on my win 7 operate system; and i installed NAV server,NAV 2009 Roletailor client; and i also conneted the demo(6-0) database to sql server 2005, but i could not connet database through RTC client, I do not know why?
when i try to open my database throught RTC client, the error messasge as below:
"The Microsoft Dynamics NAV Server cannot connect the Change Listener to SQL Server because of the following error: user ‘NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE' failed when log in".
i do not know whether i have finished all the confiration about the database and sql? is there any other steps i need to setup?
thanks very much for your advice and answers in advance.

Hi,
because it is only a local demo system I would try to run the NAV Services with your account. This should solve your problem.
greetings michael
With kind regards

Hi,
sorry I never had problems like this on the local computer. Only in a three tier environment there a rules to follow.
At the moment I am not sure what's not working for you.
1) You installed the NAV Server so you have a server "Microsoft Dynamics NAV Server" and another one for the Webservice. Those two services can not be startet?
2) The Database and the services are on the same machine?
3) You tried to change the logon information for the service to another user?
greetings michael

Hi Michael,
thanks for your answer for my problem.
to answer your question,
1) You installed the NAV Server so you have a server "Microsoft Dynamics NAV Server" and another one for the Webservice. Those two services can not be startet?
yes, cannot. i am afraid the NAV Server does not connect to sql server, but i do not know how to check it is connected or not.
2) The Database and the services are on the same machine?
yes. all the 3 tier are on the same computer.
3) You tried to change the logon information for the service to another user?
no., problem is i cannot open nav database with the rtc client, neither can change user.mik wrote:Hi,
