Restricting User from Posting data in a form

Hi,

How do we restrict user from posting data in a form. for exp. One user should enter data and Should not post and the other user should post the data in a Purchase Order Screen.

How can we do it ?

Take a look at the 'Allow Posting From/To' fields in the G/L Setup and User Setup.

We can only give dates there, But my problem is One user should do data entry only in a screen and other user should post the order.

You can do it using the permissions..

heck the existing roles and their names..

if you are using NAV2009 , you can use

Role ID Name

S&R-Q/O/I/R/C,POST Post sales orders, etc.

I have given the codeunit 90 and 91 in permission for a Role and given permission for insert ,read,modify etc as blank. Still I can post ?.

You should give permissions to table data not to codeunit..
as you are posting Purchase, give permissions to Vendor ledger Entry..

Hi,

Its Working Now...But what about the Release and Reopen Functionality in Function Menu Button of Purchase Order...i.e I want to Block it for some users...
