Dataport exported to different filenames (more than 1 rec.)

Hi Pals,

I need a solution in dataport. Say I am exporting data from Navision Item table to .txt file. I need to filter two or more records and each record should save in different text files with Item No. as the file name.

Can anyone provide me with link if it is already discussed or can anyone tell me how to solve this?

Hello,

I would use Report for this purpose. You can select filters on the beggining and After every record just create new File with "file" variable. Set name of file and export data manually

You can write this code in report

IF Item.FINDSET THEN BEGIN

    Item2.RESET;
    Item2.SETRANGE("No.",Item."No.");
    IF Item2.FINDSET THEN BEGIN
      REPEAT
        CLEAR(ItemExp);
        ItemExp.SETTABLEVIEW(Item2);
        ItemExp.FILENAME('C:\Item\'+Item2."No."+'.txt');
        ItemExp.RUNMODAL;
      UNTIL Item2.Next = 0;
    END;
  UNTIL Item.NEXT = 0;
END;

Item and Item2 are record variables of Item
ItemExp is Dataport to export Item

Am not getting the seperate text files for each record. It is overwriting..

Dataitem: Item - OnAfterGetRecord().

Actually am filtering two records using | (pipe symbol). While exporting it shows that character is not allowed.

If you are using Item Data Item then below code is enough

Item2.SETRANGE("No.",Item."No.");

    CLEAR(ItemExp);
    ItemExp.SETTABLEVIEW(Item2);
    ItemExp.FILENAME('C:\Item\'+Item2."No."+'.txt');

  UNTIL Item2.Next = 0;
