Navision Priniting Issue in Windows 7

Hi,

One of my customer using Navision 4 SP3, is facing problem when they print from Windows 7 machine. If they print from Windox XP, then no problem.

Suppose, if the report has 10 pages, the printing stops in 4th page. If they reprint again, the printing stops in the same page. They reinstalled printer driver few times, still the printing stops at the same page.

If they print from pdf or excel, it is printing fine. The problem occurs only from Navision from Windows 7 Computer. If the user print from other pc to the same printer, then no problem occurs.

The printer is Epson DLQ 3500 Dot matrix printer.

    Have you checked Event Log to find any specific info.?

    Hi Afuk,

    When i checked with customer, they said no event log or error information shown. Just the printing stopped in the same page and same line, no matter how many times they printed the report.

    Does this error occur in only one report or it occurs in all reports at the 4th page?

    Dear Ufuk,

    Only for the GST Report. For the other reports, they tried to print with more pages, it is printing fine. Don't know what to do. ](*,)

    Sounds more like a printer driver problem if it prints fine to pdf the report should be allright.

    How does the page 4 look on pdf does it differ from other pages like over flow on sides or something?

    Hi Kisu,

    When they print to pdf from Navision, no problem. When they print the same report from pdf to the dot matrix printer also no problem. If they print to dot matrix printer directly from Navision, then the report stops in the middle.

    They have reinstalled the printer driver also few times. Still the problem exists. :(

    Hmm it realy sounds printer driver problem. Have you tried to print to pdf first and then print it from the pdf and does the printer have own printer software that opens when you print out from Navision?

    We had one similar problem earlier where printer had own printing studio or something and that had to be removed leaving only the windows default printer and printer driver.

    When we print to pdf first and then to the dot matrix printer, it is printing fine.

    The problem occurs only when they print directly from Navision. If you have faced simillar issue, kindly give in detail the steps to solve it.

    We solved the issue just reinstalling the printer but only the drivers with not the printer programs.
