Gen. Posting

Dear Experts,
We have stores in UAE. But we do have stores whicha are non UAE.

So to update their stock we are posting the statment in the head office. The posting was going fine for those stores.

But now it has stated the error. It runs fine but in the middle it gives this error.


"Gen. Posting type must not be Journal Line Journal Template
name ='', Journal Batch Name ='', Line no='0' "

For clarificatiion i am talking about normal POS transactions. We were posting the statments here for NON UAE stores only.

Kindly highlight on this as why it came suddenly?????

Check with Debugger on and check for which line you are getting this error..

Dear Mohanna,
It's coming now on all the statments like if i post for the date 12th it is giving the same error as well as 13th and 14th. same error is coming and it comes as soon as it reaches in the section of Sttment line

As I dont know any thing about statement Line, the replies are only guesses
If you have General Posting type field in Statement Line check the value in those lines.
Or the on the accounts(like G/LA Acoounts) which you have mentioned on statement liens..

Dear Mohana,
I tried going in to the Statement line table. But there is not a column like Gen. Posting type.

And i could not find something related to it in G/L Accounts.

Any other idea??? ](*,)

When you click post, it is inserting the lines to Gen. Journal line and for one of the line Gen. Posting type is blank which should not be blank..just check by debugger for what account no you are getting that error?

Actually i am not a professionl kind of programmer.

I have attached the snapshot after running the debugger. IF you can see something useful!!!

In the Below-left hand side of screenshot you have record names like Accounting Period and GlSetup.

Search for GenJnlLine and Expand it expand Zoom, Select Account No., see what is the value in Account No...
Go to that account and select Gen. Posting Type and try to post now..

Please test it in test environment before you try it in live database.

I tried searching GenJnlLine but under GenJnlLine it says "Unitialised"!!!

Put a debugger at line IF "Account No." <> '' THEN by pressing F9 key at that line (In Codeunit 11-RunCheck Function)
Before posting activate debugger at Tools-->Debugger-->Active
and press post..

the debugger will stop at the above line and now you can check the value

In your statement line it seems like one of (or more) posting groups is not blank which require related G/L account to have Gen. Posting Type. Generally this is required if you want to calculate VAT by using G/L Account.

I found the account no. that was 111230 CREDIT CARD COLLECTIONS. I mentioned the Gen. Posting type in this
Account but still the same is coming.

If this account exists in the statement lines, reselect the line and try.

Or press F5 in Debugger and check account no. again, you may get different account no. for different line
