nas licence error

ntnt Member Posts: 160
hi,

when i start nas service, the service starts, but i go to the events log in the application area and i see there this error :

"Your program license does not permit more users to work simultaneously.

Wait until another user has quit the program.

Contact your system manager if you want to allow more simultaneous users on your system."

it's says that even if i'm not using navision.

anyone knows how to resolve this?

thanks.

Which licence you use? Some customer licence? Developer (NSC) licence? Cronus licence?

Try run the NAS in dos prompt (cmd.exe) to see the error message... and post the message for us...

You don't seem to have a server set up ?
This means that you are yourself sitting in db and trying to access it twice which is of course impossible.
Programmers licence should have 5 user limit and NSC company licence unlimited as far as I know.

Wrong ---- you must enter the path to database for database server. Use the Navision Database snap-in or startup parameters for server.exe. See the documentation for configuring the database server...

May be I missunderstand previous posting. I want to clear some things:

    1) You setup which server? Application or Database?
    2) Which parameters you are using on NAS?
    3) To which Database server you are connecting?

    1) Setup database server through Navision Database snap-in:

Set the database name to database file you want to use

    2) Setup application server through Navision Appl. server snap-in:

    a) Set Database server name to server (IP or name) where the Navision Database server is running

    b) Set company name on which you want to run
    c) database leave blank
    d) set start-up parameter to parameter for CU1 (for example CG for commerce gateway)

in startup parameter value is test

    net type tcp/ip
    sessions is 0
    database is c:\Program files\microsoft busisness solutions-navision\database server\database.fdb
    (but i already try with c:\Program files\microsoft busisness solutions-navision\client\database.fdb)

when i start the database server service i get a warning, i dont know if this is important, the warning is:

"The system failed to retrieve the object from Active Directory.

The system returned the following error:
    0x80005000

Contact your system manager or your vendor for support."

    Any comment?

    I had the same error:
"The network path cannot be found.
This message refers to the file .
The network server may be down, or the path may be invalid."

Found out that the problem was that windows login did not work. And windows login did not work cause "file and printer sharing" was not installed on the server...
