Datamax label printer with RTC Report

Hi,
I am currently upgrading a database from Navision version 4 to NAV 2009, including converting all reports to use the RTC Report Designer. I have a problem with one report that uses a Datamax printer. This works fine in Classic Client but refuses to work in the RTC report.

The report is a pallet label that contains commands that are understood by the Datamax printer (e4203). If you preview the report the first few lines look as follows:

441200000100050 Overnight
422200000100072CON NUM: 38957748
1X1100000000100L002530
49240100350039034
422200000100095DATE: 18/04/11

When the report is printed from Classic Client to the Datamax printer I get a nice label with a barcode. However, when I print to the Datamax printer from the RTC it just prints out the commands.

If I preview the reports, or print them to a pdf printer the results are the same from Classic and RTC, and contain a list of identical commands.

Does anybody have any experience of using Datamax printers from the RTC and point me in the right direction? [-o<

Thanks!

how these commands are sent to the printer, and in which triggers of the classic report?

There is one data item. In the onaftergetrecord of the data item it builds the text strings for the commands into text variables. These are then put in the body section of the report in text fields.

If you printed the report to a standard printer you would just see the commands.

I have no idea then :? . Maybe you should keep the classic layout until you find some solution. Good luck

Can RTC dashboard be used display external data? is it possible? The external data is in the format of XML files.
