Scandinavian characters and File variable

KisuKisu Member Posts: 381
hmm I'm trying to export table data into file and the scandinavian letters change.

Any tip where can I change the codepage that the File variable is using?

Edit:

Seems like the characters are ANSI when they write on the files.

Regional settings are all finland, even sql collation should be finnish, yet the file keeps written with ansi type gah..

    mm I added an oem to ansi converter, yet still some a with two dots characters are converting to a with o on top, but I think I get this done when I do re-check on the character codes.

    Okay I noticed the problem, if I export scandinavian letters to text file (.txt) without conversion it goes wrong with the characters.

    But when I export it with the conversion it makes the text file (.txt) correctly, like it should.

    But if I export the file as xml file (.xml) the conversion does not work

    How can I export xml file with file function so the scandinavian letters works ](*,)

    You could convert the special characters to "&" + ansii value + ";" if exporting to xml.
    Just like the reserved characters are converted like space = &20;
    But that will require a homemade conversion tool.

    hmm yep I could try to use the aumlauts etc, but I had to scrap all &-marks from the values as the bank did not accept & as and.
