Excise Tax in the Tax Details Table

Hi Experts,

Please let me know what is the functionality of Excise Tax in the Financial Management->Setup->Sales Tax->Tax Details->Tax Type as Excise Tax.

This option is not a part of indian localization , you can find this option in the World wide Version also and i think this Option nothing to do with Indian taxes. .
