VAT Registration Number checks

Hi,

Does any of you have the algorithms to check whether the VAT Registration No. for a specific country is valid? Need this for the following countries:
- Austria
- Czech Republic
- Finland
- Ireland
- Luxemburg
- Poland
- Romania
- Sweden
I'm not talking about the VAT Registration No. formats (as you have a NAV table to specify the formats).

What we are using in our DB:

CZ CZ########
CZ CZ#########
CZ CZ##########

But I cannot grant the correctness.


P.S.: Sorry, noticed the last sentence too late... :-) I do not have any other mechanism to check the VAT Reg. No. (some will be "modulo 11", but I think that there are exceptions).
