We have imported the 2.6b database and it seems to work in 2009.exe. We want to take advantage of the XML porting in 2009 and run on Win2008 server/win7 clients. Is it possible to run a 2.6b database using the 2009 executable?? Anyone have experience with running 2.6 on newer executables?

This is a CSide database we would like to conver to SQL 2008 since cside is no longer supported. Can 2.6 be converted to SQL 2008??

Thanks

Yes, you can use NAV2009 executables on your NAV2.6 database.

You can use NAV2009 to run Navision 2.6 on SQL 2008. HOWEVER! You will need to update some coding as well as do some tuning to ensure you do not get errors or performance problems.

C/Side is still supported but won't be in future versions. It's version 2.60 that's not supported.
There are no bugs - only undocumented features.

Can you point me to a URL to what coding/tuning is needed?
    Thanks!

I'm afraid you have to find out yourself. This depends on the business processes etc.; there are just some "classic" or common issues (like using SQL optimized commands), most of the problems will originate from customizations.

Further, have in mind that MS is offically NOT suppoting such a scenario!
