When you enter the Object Designer and scroll the tools menu, there are two options that are TRANSLATE and LANGUAGE MODULE. What are they use for? thanks
TRANSLATE allows for importing/exporting all sorts of terms - object names, field names, control texts, menu texts, dataitem names, variables, function names, etc. If you select one or more objects in the object designer and then Tools/Translate/Export, then it creates an ascii text file with the term/text and a coding that exactly identifies the entry internally. If you change some text and import the file back in with Tools/Translate/Import, then compile, you see your changes.
LANGUAGE MODULE is used for importing/exporting language texts for only those entries where multiple languages can be entered. For example, if you enter a caption, then you see a three character language code like ENU=<your caption> in the MLCaption field. More than one language can be entered in the MLCaption, like ENU=my text;DEU=mein Text. The LANGUAGE MODULE lets you import another language for example or export (and optionally remove) an existing language's entries, like just the DEU= from the MLCaption example. These tools are more for country NTR's or NSC with international products.
