Having troble posting NSF check can anyone explain how to enter and post them? I think I'm missing a step or even putting it in wrong. Tried it and it came out wrong in the customer acct.
No I need to know how to post NSF check correctly in the system. Is showing as a negative in the customer acct. There is something that Im doing wrong.
If there's a NSF payment applied to the invoice, then the invoice remains open. So there will be an entry for the actual payment, then an entry to reverse the payment.
Am I missing something? What are the desired entries you'd like to see?
I want to know what exact entry do I put in the cash journal for a NSF check. The check was applied to the invoice already and it came back NSF. I don't want to mess the acct. I know I have to cr the bank and debit the acct but in the cash journal there are other entry to put which I don't know.

Navigate to the customer ledger entry with the NSF payment. Click on Functions --> Unapply. Then Function --> Reverse transaction.
