Installation of Financials 2.60B

My company is running on an old Navision Financials 2.60B. The Navision partner that installed at the time doesn't exist any longer. We have a developers' license, and our system is running fine. We want to migrate the database to a newer (physical) server. We would like to install a 2.60B client to test before rolling-out, but we don't have the installation files any longer.
What is the legal way of getting a hold on the 2.60B C/SIDE installation files?

On which OS you want to run it? Do not forget that this version is not compatible with the new Windows...

I wasn't aware of the OS incompatibility. Where did you read that? What would be the newest verstion of Windows on which I can run the 2.60B C/SIDE?

    Thanks!

I am sure that not on Win 2k8 (Windows Vista, Windows 7, Win 2k8 are same family), I am not sure, but I think that last version of win on which you can run the 2.6 is Win 2k3 (Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows NT). Best is to try it.

That alone is reason enough that everyone should keep their solutions current and pay their yearly maintenance. What is going to happen if it does work on server 2003 and then that OS becomes unsupported? Or worse, it becomes unsupported and your server crashes and you can't get that OS media for it. What happens if you want to upgrade user's systems and they can't run the software on a new version of Windows as well? Risking a lot of unscheduled downtime. This is more just a warning for all customers, but you should start considering upgrading if you have not already. At the very least an executables upgrade.

Windows 2003 (and 2003 R2) are out of mainstream support since half last year (if I remember correctly).
That means that Microsoft only fixes security bugs through Windows update. And if you want them to fix another bug, you have to pay for it.

Why would you want to install a 20 year old app on a state of the art platform?

Let me reset the discussion: I do not have any wish to install 2.60B on a new platform. I just need to install it, I'll make sure the platform is in place. The main purpose of this installation is to test that the companies in the database in question can be separated.

I appreciate tremendously the input about platform-correctness and support, but I'd like to go back to the original question:
Does anybody have the installers for 2.60B?

    Regards,

    Jaime

In case you don't find them, you can just copy them from another PC/server.
The client subdir is the easiest, just copy them and it works.
    For the server-executables check this : http://www.mibuso.com/howtoinfo.asp?FileID=10

I really don't want to be a smartass but thats one of the main reasons of upgrading.

Being also a consultant I'd really like to know why you/your company didn't upgrade for so long? What's the main reason?

For 2.6b, you don't need an installer. Just copy and paste the Navision directory and run the fin.exe.
