Deleting Expanding Formating Restore

I have my database file on G: G: has 2 Gigs free space. To reclaim this space I must delete G: Format. and Expand G: Thus I'll have 4Gigs. Do I simply delete my Navision Files on 
and G: ;perform the above, and re-introduce/restore Navision after this is complete? I would want Navision back to its healthy state after reclaiming that free space. Just want to avoid disaster. Thanks
