Hi All,
My client has been losing connection from the rtc (it seems to be since we installed nav2009 sp1 build 31361)
The screen shot below is an example of the error message they receive
When they click ok to the error the rtc closes - they can restart it immediately and it works ok
The error is occuring on some users only at seemingly random intervals suring the day

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
Andy

I recommend to check event log on client and on server for more info about this error.

Having logged a support call with Microsoft, they have confirmed this is a bug as NAV should simply handle the error rather than crash the service. Their official solution was to update to the latest hotfix, which given the date of the advice, would force an update to the new R2 release.

Given the amount of customisation at this customer site we declined this route at the time as the customer did not want to update and therefore pay for the testing required.

A third party add-on called Invoice Workflow, by a company called Formula Fo, was not closing connections to the SQL server. Scheduling a nightly restart of the SQL server, and thereby resetting these connections has solved the problem and we haven't received the error since.

Hope this helps anyone that encounters this problem
