Hi.

hope someone can assist with this,
i have just installed NAV 2009 R2 in a 3 tier.
i have sql 2008 R2, installed on one machine (DbServer).
i have the NAV service installed on another Server 2008 R2 machine (AppServer).
both the nav server and sql server are running with the same domain account.
i can connect via the RTC on AppServer.
i cannot connect from any other machine trying to go via the AppServer.
the message i get is as follows, "The login failed when connecting to SQL Server DbServer"

i hope someone can assist.

    1) You need to set correctly the SPN if the middle tier is somewhere else than on SQL.
    2) Check the event log on client and on the middle tier for more info
    3) See the documentation for how to install the NAV 2009 to 3 separate computers...

    Hi Kine.

i have set the spn's for both the navserver and sqlserver.
there does not appear to be any related messages in the event log.
have read the docs, and followed all the steps, this is why i am now asking here, as i have done everything the docs said and still no luck.

I have managed to resolve the issue, there were duplicate spn's on the sql server.
removed the duplicate, and it works.
